The 3 courses will start and finish at Blazin' M Ranch and are set amongst the stunning natural beauty of the Verde Valley, Cottonwood and Clarkdale and home to the delicate riparian watershed of the Verde River.You are are surrounded by majestic Mingus Mountain to the South, Sycamore Canyon to the East, Sedona and the infamous Red Rocks to the North and Tuzigoot National Monument,
At every turn, you will be immersed in the sensory experience of all the natural wonders of this sacred land and what makes our community so special. 100% of race proceeds will go back to supporting getting kids on bikes and the Riverfront Park bike park development via the Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition (501c3)
15 MILE COURSE
100 meter Le Mans start, ½ mile to the first climb which is 7.5 miles, then 1 mile of flat with scenic views of Sycamore Canyon and Mingus Mountain. Next you’ll descend 2 miles down “Rust Bucket” to a 1 mile climb back up to “Thumper”. Next is a 1.5 mile descent before a 400 meter punchy climb. After is another mile of fun swooping descent, another 700 meter punchy climb with 2.5 miles of descent with a few short black diamond sections. Finally, you’ll finish off with about 1 mile of rolling singletrack, a short 300 meter pavement climb before descending to the finish with a half mile of flat dirt road along the Verde River, putting you at the start/finish among all of the cheering spectators at the picturesque Blazin’ M Ranch.
30 MILE COURSE
100 meter Le Mans start before circling the picturesque Blazin’ M Ranch. After exiting Blazin' M Ranch you will climb (1 mile) Evil Hill connector (.7 miles) to then climb up Raptor for 2 miles where you make a right hand turn onto Thumper for a 1 mile descent (there are a couple black diamond sections in here) before hitting a short 400 meter punchy climb, followed by a fun 'swooping' descent before another short punchy 300 meter climb, followed by a false flat to your first rest stop (water, lite snacks and some mechanical supplies will be here) (at mile 6) at Thumper and Lime Kiln intersection, the first 3/4 of a mile of Lime Kiln descent is gradual until your back to back black diamond sections (please listen to our volunteers and pay attention to our signs) descending down Lime Kiln Trail into Dead Horse State Park at mile 8, continue on Lime Kiln Trail for 3/4 of a mile to Flycatcher Road, make a right up fly catcher to the second rest stop at 8.7 miles (this will be the main rest stop that will have plenty of food, drinks and mechanical supplies) This will be the start of a 8 mile climb. Continue back up Evil Hill to Raptor, at mile marker 9.7 make a left at Lower Bones for 5 miles, at mile marker 14.7 (intersection of Lower Bones, Upper Bones, Thumper and Rust Bucket, make a slight right and then a immediate left up Upper Bones for a .9 mile climb to Upper Raptor where you make a left and continue climbing Upper Raptor, at mile 17.2, make a left on to Rust Bucket (this is the last of the 8 mile climb, this section will be flat for approx. a mile and half before descending for another 1 3/4 of a miles, at the bottom of the hill (jeep road) make a sharp right, (there will be another aid station here with food, drinks and mechanical supplies) approximately 3/4 of mile make a left at the "T", Forrest Service Road 9518, for approximately 1 mile (mile marker 21.2) make a left on to Forest Service Rd. 258, follow this down the hill to Sycamore Canyon Rd.(combination of dirt road and paved)(the asphalt section will parallel the Verde River in some sections) where you make left, follow that down to Tuzigoot Rd. (mile marker 28.8) where you make a left and an immediate right into Tuzigoot boat take-out, Do NOT go down the road! There will be a trail marker on the left, take that and stay to south (right) of the fence at mile marker 29.3 you will go down a concrete wash and through a green gate (if you are pre-riding please close gate behind you) you are now in Tuzigoot National Monument (STAY ON BIKE FRIENDLY PATHS!), make your way to the pedestrian bridge and then make a right, short steep 200 meter climb, you are now back on Fly Catcher Rd. follow that down for a 1/4 of a mile and make a right (at the horse corals back to Blazin' M Ranch for the finish.
50 MILE COURSE
100 meter Le Mans start before circling the picturesque Blazin’ M Ranch. Next, you will hit a short punchy climb and a short descent into Tavasci marsh including a few punchy rollers, a 200 meter climb before heading north for 4 miles on Sycamore Canyon Road, a rolling, scenic 3 mile asphalt road before hitting gravel. You’ll be on gravel for 3/4 mile before making a right onto Forest Service Road 258 for a gradual 1.5 mile climb. Next you’ll make a right turn onto a rolling 2 track jeep road followed by a 1 ½ mile climb before hitting the first single track. Once on the single track, you will climb for 2 miles and then turn left to 1 mile of flat with scenic views of Sycamore Canyon and Mingus Mountain, before descending 2 miles down “Rust Bucket”, to a 1 mile climb back up to “Thumper” with a 1.5 mile descent before a 400 meter punchy climb. Next is another mile of fun swooping descent, another 700 meter punchy climb with 2.5 miles of descent with a few short black diamond sections. Finally, you’ll finish off with about 1 mile of rolling singletrack, a short 300 meter pavement climb before descending to the finish with a half mile of flat dirt road along the Verde River, coming through the start/finish at Blazin M Ranch, in to a 7.5 mile climb, a 1.5 mile flat section with a 500 meter climb to follow on to a gravel road (258). After you will descend back onto Sycamore Canyon Road for 4 miles where you will re-enter Tuzigoot National Monument to the start/finish.
